Pune: Opium Seller Arrested By Police In Chandannagar; 6Kg Opium Powder Seized From Him
Pune, 26th October 2022: Chandannagar police arrested a person who was selling opium in the Chandannagar area. Six kg of crushed opium pods were seized from him. The arrested person has been identified as Mahiram Manaram Bishnoi (28), a resident of Chandrabhaga Building, Chandannagar, and a native of Loawat, District Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
The court ordered Bishnoi to be remanded in police custody till Friday (October 28). The investigation team of Chandannagar police got information that Bishnoi was selling powder made from opium pods.
Police raided Bishnoi’s house and seized 6 kg of powder made from opium pods. The crushed opium pods seized are valued at Rs 60,000.
Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Landage, Crime Branch Police Inspector Ravindra Kadam, Assistant Police Inspector Sonwane, Sub-Inspector Muluk, Police Constables Avinash Sankpal, Mahesh Nanekar, Vikas Kadam, Shekhar Shinde, Ganesh Handgar, Anup Sangle, etc carried out the operation.
