Pune: Over 60,000 Students Secure Admission Under RTE; 45,000 Seats Still Vacant

Pune, 10th March 2025: Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 60,995 children have secured admission to schools. The deadline for students allotted seats to complete their admission process is set to end today, on 10th March.
To ensure no child is deprived of education, authorities had extended the admission deadline multiple times. However, 45,092 seats still remain vacant despite these efforts.
In Pune district, 960 schools offered 18,498 RTE seats, attracting 61,573 applications. Out of these, 18,161 children were selected, but only 10,659 have completed their admission process so far.
To fill the remaining seats, authorities will now offer admission opportunities to students on the waiting list.
