Pune: Over 7,000 Families in Pune District To Benefit From Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2020-21

Pune, October 29, 2020: Over 7,000 families will now be able to make their dream come true to own affordable housing, as the limit to provide homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been increased. Around 7,425 families in Pune district will get homes under this scheme as the target limit has been increased from last year. A letter in this regard has been sent to all the block development officers in the district, informed the Zilla Parishad’s district rural development agency.

For the year 2020 to 21, the state government has given a target to cover families of 564 Scheduled Castes, 55 Scheduled Tribes, 6,806 from other categories; making a total of 7,425 households for Pune district under this scheme. The target homes to be made available are 171 in Ambegaon taluka, 1,611 in Baramati, 451 in Bhor, 814 in Daund, 162 in Haveli and 2,464 in Indapur. 390 from Junnar, 230 from Khed taluka, 56 from Maval, 170 from Mulshit, 321 from Purandar, 432 from Shirur and 153 from Velha taluka.

As many as 3,800 houses have been provided till the end of November last year. Some of the beneficiaries did not get houses due to space constraints. As a result, the housing target in the district was not achieved, the Zilla Parishad had launched a campaign and asked each department head to send a review to the villages. Houses in the district were inaugurated on the same day with instructions to complete the unfinished works
