Pune: PCMC Offers Tea And Vadapav In Exchange For Empty Plastic Bottles

Pimpri, 7th January 2022: To avert harm to the environment, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will provide tea for every five bottles, and one Vadapav for every 10 bottles. Rajesh Patil, the Municipal Commissioner, has urged people, small hotels and businesses to take advantage of the initiative.

Every day, hundreds of used bottles of drinking water and soft drinks are discarded in Pimpri-Chinchwad. This not only wreaks havoc on the city’s hygienic conditions but also affects the ecosystem. These bottles are rarely picked up.

“We are doing everything we can to collect garbage, raise waste disposal awareness, and engage all segments of the community,” stated Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil.
