Pune: PCMC Ranks First In Maharashtra State For Maternal, Child Health And Immunization Initiative
Pimpri, 4th March 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has secured the first rank among municipal corporations in the state in the Maternal and Child Health and Routine Immunization Initiative conducted by the State Health Department from April 2024 to January 2025. This ranking reflects PCMC’s strong performance in antenatal care, institutional deliveries, child health monitoring, routine immunization, and family planning services, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring high-quality healthcare for mothers and children.
The assessment evaluated municipal corporations across key indicators, including early registration of pregnant women, antenatal check-ups, maternal vaccinations, institutional deliveries, newborn care, and immunization rates. PCMC’s focused efforts in improving healthcare infrastructure, expanding outreach services, and ensuring timely medical interventions have led to this achievement.
Expressing his appreciation, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “Achieving the first rank in this crucial health initiative highlights our commitment to strengthening maternal and child healthcare services. This recognition is a result of the dedication of our medical teams, ASHA workers, and health officials who have worked tirelessly to ensure comprehensive care for women and children. PCMC will continue to enhance its healthcare framework to maintain and improve these outcomes.”
Additional commissioner, Vijaykumar Khorate, said, “Achieving the top position in public health management across the state is a significant milestone for Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Our focus will always remain on providing high-quality and timely healthcare services to citizens. In the future, we aim to further strengthen healthcare services through digital health management, modern health centers, and extensive immunization programs.”
