Pune/Pimpri, September 25, 2020: Frequent server connectivity issues at the property registration offices has caused outrage amongst the people who had taken prior appointments but had to wait for several hours in the queue to get the registration work done.

The connectivity was down on Friday, Monday and was restored around 1 pm on Tuesday, informed Biren Bhatt, who went to the property registration office (Haveli sub-registrar no. 18) for registration work.

“Dozens of people who had taken appointments had to wait for hours. The senior authorities should have shown more prompt ownership and better handling of such outages, especially in the times of COVID”, he said.

Biren further said that internet connection outages are the hallmark of sub-registrar offices in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad areas. “The officers at these offices must be held accountable for upkeeping the computers and network that waste taxpayers time and money”, he added.

However, Punekarnews tried connecting Inspector General of Registration, Omprakash Deshmukh, regarding the problems faced by the people, but he didn’t respond even after repeated calls and messages. That shows the seriousness of the department towards citizens’ woes.
