Pune: PCMC Strengthens CSR Collaboration with 50 National and International Companies to Drive Citywide Welfare Projects

Pimpri, 4th June 2025: To accelerate citizen welfare and infrastructure development through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) hosted a high-level CSR partners’ meet on 3rd June 2025 at Chinchwad. The event brought together representatives from over 50 national and international companies to explore deeper, long-term collaboration for social impact projects across the city.
Speaking at the event, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh stressed the increasing need for citizen-focused infrastructure, especially in education, health, sanitation, and the environment. “As the city grows, we are committed to ensuring inclusive development. For this, PCMC requires not just CSR funding but also the expertise and human resource support of companies that have proven experience and innovative approaches,” Singh said.
He highlighted flagship initiatives supported under CSR, such as the Divyang Bhavan at Morwadi — one of the most advanced integrated centres for persons with disabilities (PwDs) in the country — and projects like the Lighthouse skill development initiative, the stitching unit centre in Bhosari, and the scientific solid waste management facility in Moshi. “These are living examples of how CSR, when aligned with urban priorities, can transform lives,” Singh added.
Chief Information & Technology Officer and CSR Head Nilkanth Poman welcomed participants and emphasised that PCMC has consistently convened this annual meet for the past five years to co-create high-impact social initiatives. “From hospitals and schools to community-based innovations, the impact of CSR is visible across Pimpri Chinchwad. Citizens are already seeing the benefits, and we aim to scale this further,” he noted.
Senior officials from PCMC — including Additional Commissioners Pradip Jambhale Patil and Trupti Sandbhor; Medical Officer of Health Dr. Laxman Gofne; Deputy Medical Officer Dr. Abhaychandra Dadewar; Deputy Commissioner of Health Sachin Pawar; Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Patil; Assistant Commissioner for Garden Department Umesh Dhakne, and Education Administration Officer Sunanda Bangar — were present to engage directly with CSR leads and showcase upcoming opportunities.
CSR representatives shared presentations on their ongoing and proposed projects, while PCMC department heads outlined key areas where partnerships could drive transformative change. Special presentations were made by CSR Advisors Vijay Vavare and Shrutika Mungi, who highlighted the recognition PCMC has received at national and global platforms over the past two years and gave a detailed account of the developmental outcomes achieved through CSR contributions.
The session ended with a vote of thanks from CSR Head Nilkanth Poman, reiterating the importance of continued partnership for shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready Pimpri Chinchwad.
