Pune: PCMC’s ‘Siddhi Initiative’ Empowers Women to Distribute Property Tax Payments
Pimpri, 26th April 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the ‘Siddhi Initiative’ to empower women by involving them in the distribution of property tax payments for the financial year 2023-24.
Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of the Taxation Department, has urged the 300 women involved in the initiative to provide their cooperation to make it successful.
To ensure the smooth distribution of payments, the women from self-help groups were trained on Monday (24th April). They were informed about the payment of property tax and the details that need to be filled out by citizens. The women were issued identity cards, and property owners’ contact numbers and addresses were added to the Tax Collection Department’s app. The women will collect information and photographs of properties to update the department’s records.
The updated information will help the Tax Collection Department to streamline the collection and payment of property taxes in the future. Housing societies have been advised to allow women with identity cards to enter the premises. Shekhar Singh, Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, said that the Siddhi Initiative aims to update all property tax information while empowering women.
