Narayangaon, 10 August 2021: People travelling on the Pune-Nashik highway got to witness a Bullet motorcycle on the road speeding without a driver on Monday evening which had created quite a stir.

 

A pedestrian was seriously injured when a speeding Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle hit him on the Pune-Nashik highway here on Monday. The motorcycle fell on the ground after speeding off without a driver for about 300 feet on the highway.

 

This is the first case where a Bullet motorcycle was travelling at a high speed without a driver on the highway.
The incident took place on August 9, 2021, at around 6.30 pm.

 

The pedestrian, Janardhan Dattu Ganjwe (47), a resident of Ganjewadi in Junnar taluka, was hit by a speeding motorcycle on the Pune-Nashik highway at Narayangaon on Monday evening.

 

During which, the driver of the Bullet fell on the ground from the bike and the bullet drove ahead for about 300 feet on the highway without the driver. Then, it fell horizontally in front of a jeep on the highway.

 

Seeing the motorcycle speeding towards him without a driver, the jeep driver stopped his vehicle and avoided a mishap. The commuters got to witness a Bullet going at a smooth speed without a driver on the highway for a few moments. The whole incident was recorded on a CCTV camera at the Pereira Petrol Pump.

 

Pedestrian Janardhan Dattu Ganjwe was seriously injured in the accident and his arms and legs were fractured, informed Dr Hanumant Bhosale.

 

A case in this regard will be registered after getting all the information regarding the accident, informed Narayangaon police station Assistant Inspector of Police Prithviraj Tate.
