Pune: Peth areas, Aundh Among Localities Likely to Face Low-Pressure Water Supply For Two Days as PMC Shuts Parvati Treatment Plant For Repair
Pune, 1st August 2026: A leak in the inlet chamber of the 1,200-mm diameter raw water pipeline supplying the Old Parvati Water Treatment Plant has forced the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to temporarily shut down the facility, civic officials said on Saturday.
The Water Supply Department said repair work is being carried out on a war footing and is expected to take around eight hours to complete. The treatment plant will be restarted immediately after the repairs are finished.
The shutdown is likely to affect water supply on August 1 and August 2, with residents in the Peth areas, Shivajinagar, Erandwane, Aundh, Bopodi and adjoining localities expected to receive water at low pressure.
The PMC has appealed to citizens to cooperate during the repair work and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
