Pimple Gurav, 23rd January 2025: A major fire broke out today at 11:30 am in a labor camp at Kashid Park, Pimple Gurav, Pimpri Chinchwad. The fire caused extensive damage, including the loss of cash, jewelry, and lifetime savings of the laborers. Fire Officer Gautam Ingawale, who was present at the scene, told Punekar News that four fire vehicles from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Main Fire Station and Rahatani Fire Station were dispatched to the spot.
Ingawale explained that the congested area made it challenging to access the site. However, since the fire involved tin-shed homes, it was extinguished within 20 minutes. Unfortunately, many laborers had stored their hard-earned money and valuable possessions in their homes. At least 20 tin-shed homes were affected, resulting in the loss of around Rs 5 lakh in cash and 5 tolas of gold jewelry, amounting to an estimated Rs 10 lakh.
Ingawale stated that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit. Thankfully, there were no injuries or loss of life. The firefighting operation was led by a team under the guidance of Gautam Ingawale, Vikas Toradmal, and others.
