Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Raids Two Bars Operating Late At Night; Takes Action Against 218 People

Pune, 16th August 2021: The bars operating beyond the deadline given by the administration in the Pimpri Chinchwad area has been raided by the police. The action was taken against 218 people by the Social Security Cell of Pimpri- Chinchwad Police.

 

According to police, in the first incident, the police received the information on Saturday (14th August), that the 18 Degrees Resto Lounge in Rahatani was operating beyond the given time. Police raided the place and action was taken against bar owner Neeraj Newale and 13 others. Also, 105 customers were fined Rs 500 for not wearing the mask. A total of 52,500 rupees was collected as a fine.

 

In another incident, action was taken against Yolo Bar and Restaurant, for operating late in the night. A case has been registered against bar owner Sameer Wagaj and nine others and around 113 people were fined for not wearing a mask. Rs 56,500 was collected as a fine and Rs 74,220 was seized from the bar owner.

 

Speaking about this Deputy commissioner of Police Anand Bhoite said,” Due to Coronavirus Pandemic, the hotels and bars are allowed to operate only up to 10 pm. The accused were operating the bars beyond the deadline therefore action has been taken. We will submit a proposal for sealing the hotels and canceling of license.”
