Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad RTO Appeals Citizens To Complain About Over Charging By Private Buses
Pune 15th Sept 2023: As the festival season arrives, the travel fare of private buses starts increasing and the citizens are forced to pay much higher fare to travel. However, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Pimpri Chinchwad has now appealed to the citizens to complain about such private transport buses and has assured to take action against them.
According to the rule, these private buses can only charge upto 50% more fare than Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses fare and any bus found violating this rule can be punished as per the rule. However, since many people travel to their hometowns during the festival season there is a high demand of transport vehicles and the private buses take advantage of it by increasing the fare which sometimes rises by almost three or four times than the normal fare.
The RTO inspectors in Pimpri Chinchwad division have been asked to take action against private buses found overcharging from commutes. The citizens are also appealed to send details about such transport vehicles to the official mail Id [email protected] along with the valid evidence. Cases can be filed against such transport buses as per the relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, said officials.
