Pimpri, 18th October 2023: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Sub Regional Transport Office (RTO) is set to launch a new series of registration numbers for two-wheelers, designated ‘LD.’ The process for accepting advance applications and conducting auctions for securing attractive registration numbers in this series is now underway. For four-wheelers, attractive numbers can be reserved by paying three times the standard fee, while the remaining numbers are available for two-wheelers.

For owners of four-wheelers seeking attractive registration numbers from the newly launched two-wheeler series, applications can be submitted in the prescribed format on October 19, between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., by paying three times the standard fee. To reserve attractive registration numbers for two-wheelers, applications should be submitted on October 20, between 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.

Applicants must visit the new vehicle registration section of the office and submit a Demand Draft (DD) favouring ‘DYRTO, Pimpri Chinchwad’ from a Nationalized Scheduled Bank located in Pune, along with proof of address, Aadhaar card, identity card, an attested copy of the PAN card, and a mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card. In addition, a photo ID is required for identity verification, and documents such as an attested copy of the Aadhaar card and a telephone bill serve as proof of address.

The envelopes containing the DDs will be opened on the same day at 3.30 PM in the presence of the Registration Authority in the Deputy Regional Transport Officer’s room. The applicant submitting the highest DD amount will be allotted the preferred number. The vehicle number reservation message will be sent to the applicant’s mobile, and the receipt can be collected from the office five days after this notification.

It’s important to note that once a registration number is reserved, it cannot be changed. If the vehicle is not presented for registration within 30 days from the date of reservation, the reserved registration number will be automatically cancelled, and the fee will be credited to the government. The fee paid for the reservation of any specific registration number is non-refundable.

The Deputy Regional Transport Officer has emphasized that in the event of changes in the charges for attractive numbers, the prescribed charges will apply accordingly.

The list of available registration numbers for four-wheelers will be posted on the office notice board on the morning of October 20. Applicants who wish to participate in the auction for these numbers must deposit their DDs in a sealed envelope at the office by 2:30 p.m. on the same day. At 3.30 PM, in the Deputy Regional Transport Officer’s room, the envelopes will be opened in the presence of the Registration Officer, and the highest DD amount will secure the preferred number.

The list of two-wheeler registration numbers will be posted on the office notice board on October 23. Applicants looking to participate in the auction for two-wheelers should deposit their DDs in a sealed envelope at the office on the 23rd of October by 2:30 PM.
