Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad’s Regional Offices Celebrate Success in Cleanliness Competition

Pimpri, 18th October 2023: In adherence to the directives of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation undertook the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Nagari 2.0” campaign from September 15 to October 2, 2023. This concerted effort, as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aimed to foster a cleaner and more hygienic environment within the region.

As part of this extensive campaign, a special “One Day One Hour” cleanliness drive was conducted on October 1, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The one-hour initiative was conducted at 10 a.m. and saw the active participation of citizens, social workers, municipal officials, as well as Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh.

The cleanliness drive spanned 100 locations across eight regional offices within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. In alignment with the “Swachata Hi Seva” campaign, this initiative aimed to reinforce the commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh, in recognition of the exceptional efforts put forth during this campaign, conducted a regional-level competition, highlighting the commendable work carried out by regional offices and wards. During the felicitation ceremony, Regional Officer Sitaram Bahure, Assistant Health Officer Shantaram Mane, and Chief Health Inspector Kanchankumar Indalkar of the F Regional Office were honoured with the first rank badge and certificates of merit.

Regional Officer Rajesh Agale and Assistant Health Officer Rajesh Bhatt of the E Regional Office secured the second rank in the competition. Additionally, Amit Pandit, Regional Officer of the B Regional Office, and Assistant Health Officer Mahadev Shinde were bestowed with the third rank medals and certificates for their dedicated efforts.

The event was attended by Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Ulhas Jagtap, Coordinator, and Assistant Commissioner Yashwant Dange of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, along with heads of various departments. The recognition and appreciation expressed during the ceremony underscore the commitment of Pimpri Chinchwad to the ideals of cleanliness and hygiene propagated by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
