Pune, 15th July 2022: The monsoon season has started in Pune, bringing relief from the sweltering heat of the summer to Punekars. But it also brings a wave of different infections, some of which are simple while others pose a major threat to you and your family.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), keeping the health of the public in mind, has appealed to the citizens to boil and filter water before drinking.

PMC tweeted, “It is observed that the water in the dam supplying water to Pune city is turbid. The water is being purified from the water treatment plant and is perfectly suitable for drinking, however, as a precaution, citizens should boil and filter the water before drinking.”

The danger of illness is higher during the monsoon than during other seasons because of the humidity, muck, and stagnant water that serve as breeding grounds for several viruses and bacteria.

To be safe from diseases and to be healthy, boiled water should be consumed. As a result, adopting a healthy lifestyle and improving living conditions can be appropriate preventative measures at this time of year.
