Pune: PMC Calls For Documentation To Avail 40% Property Tax Rebate

Pune, 9th May 2025: Citizens residing in self-owned houses who have submitted the PT-3 application to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) but have not received the 40% property tax concession are advised to verify their status at the nearest ward office. Officials stated that if the required documents were not attached with the PT-3 application, property owners must provide the necessary documentation.
The Property Tax Department of the PMC has begun distributing property tax bills for the financial year 2025-26. The distribution started on 1st May, and citizens are urged to review their bills carefully. Earlier, properties assessed for tax before 1st April 2019, were eligible for a 40% concession on property tax. However, the State Government later withdrew the said concession.
Additionally, following a GIS survey conducted by the PMC, the 40% concession was also withdrawn for individuals owning multiple properties from 1st April 2018.
Two years ago, in 2023, the State Government reinstated the 40% property tax concession for citizens residing in their self-owned houses. However, to avail of the concession, property owners were required to submit a PT-3 application, declaring the same, along with two residential proof documents. PMC has verified the PT-3 applications and granted the 40% concession in the current financial year’s property tax bills to eligible applicants. The concession is clearly mentioned in the bills.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP stated that for property owners who did not submit the required documents with their PT-3 applications, the concession has not been granted. He further informed that such individuals are advised to visit the Property Tax Department at their respective ward offices to complete the necessary documentation.
