Pune, 4th August 2020: After protests by traders associations and shopkeepers, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has cancelled the odd-even dates (P1,P2) for the opening of non-essential shops.
As per PMC lockdown order for August, shops were allowed to open one side of the road as per odd-even date formula. The traders and shopkeepers have been demanding permission to open shops on all days. Meanwhile, malls and shopping complexes will reopen from August 5 (tomorrow) and there is no odd-even date for them. Therefore, the shopkeepers intensified their protests.
Therefore, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar today issued an order to cancel the odd-even date formula (P1,P2) for the opening of the shops. Now all shops will remain open on all days from 9 am to 7 pm.
