Pune: PMC COVID War Room Receive Most Calls Related To Availability Of Oxygen Beds

Pune, 23 March 2021: As the number of covid-19 infected patients is rising, the number of calls has also increased at the Covid-19 war room helpline number to inquire about the availability of beds in the hospital. The authority said the number of calls has risen from 20 calls to 200 calls per day.

The covid-19 war room was started to help people with Covid-19 testing and treatment, availability of the beds in the hospital or nearest covid care centre. This setup was established by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), and during the first wave of the pandemic, the war room has helped many people to make available the beds for the patients.

The second wave has hit the city, and the number of patients is increasing rapidly. The demand for beds is also rising. Meanwhile, many beds are already occupied in the government and private hospitals. People are struggling to get a bed for their relatives and friends who are infected with the virus.

The inquiry for the bed has increased at covid -19 war room helpline. The doctors managing this war room have to observe that the number of calls inquiring for oxygen beds is more. The doctors have said that the PMC reactivates the jumbo covid treatment centre; it will solve the availability of oxygen beds.
