Pune: PMC Cracks Down on Unauthorized Restaurants and Pubs in Vadgaon Sheri, Kalyani Nagar
Pune, 9th October 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a large-scale drive against restaurants and pubs operating without proper authorization in Vadgaon Sheri and Kalyani Nagar, responding to citizen complaints about the misuse of residential and open spaces for commercial purposes.
During the inspections, led by Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P. and Deputy Commissioner Avinash Sapkal, the Property Tax Department identified 44 establishments that violated construction and zoning norms, including encroachments in side and front margins as well as rooftop structures.
The PMC has issued notices to 151 property owners and will impose an additional property tax of ₹22.76 lakh on those found flouting regulations.
