Pune, 1st February 2022: The process of regularization of unauthorized constructions on Gunthewari land within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) from January 10, but this regularization seems to be getting a cold response from the citizens. Only 7 proposals for regularization have been filed in 20 days.

According to the Maharashtra state government’s order, owners of houses and buildings which were constructed without permission before December 31, 2020, will be able to submit proposals online to the PMC through an architect or a licensed engineer. After submitting the proposal, the challan is to be checked from the single window of the city engineer’s office in the main building of the PMC in Shivajinagar.

After paying the challan amount on the ground floor of the municipal corporation in Bank of Maharashtra or online, the complete challan and Gunthewari files and documents are to be submitted to the inward and outward section of the building construction department.

Gunthewari cases received in inward and outward sections will be handed over to the construction inspectors working in the respective zones after making a list of cases. The construction department has assigned the responsibility of construction inspector, deputy engineer, and executive engineer to carry out the Gunthewari process in all seven zones.

According to the information given by the PMC, only seven proposals have been filed since January 10. This response is minimal. The city improvement Committee has made a request to the construction department, in addition to reducing the rates of this process, proposals for single Gunthewari should also be submitted as a result, the citizens can get relief and the more citizens can come forward.
