Pune: PMC Imposes Rs 2.25 Lakh Fines for Illegal Dumping in Riverbed
Kondhwe Dhawade, 24th February 2026: In a strict action against illegal dumping of construction waste, Pune municipal authorities conducted a riverbed clearance operation at Kondhwe Dhawade.
The initiative was carried out under the supervision of Avinash Sapkal, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management, along with Prasad Katkar, Deputy Commissioner, Zone 3, and Assistant Commissioners Pragya Potdar and Asmita Tambe from the Warje-Karvenagar Ward Office.
During the operation, authorities seized eight vehicles and a JCB engaged in illegal dumping, imposing a fine of ₹25,000 on each vehicle. A total of ₹2.25 lakh was collected in penalties.
The operation was supported by senior health inspectors Sandeep Chavan and Nitin Lokhande, health inspectors Vaibhav Ghatkambale, Pradeepkumar Raut, Kavita Shisolikar, Rupali Shedge, and Prashant Damle, along with staff members Akshay Landge, Ashok Andhale, and driver Sachin Adsul.
