Pune: PMC To Acquire Land Of Dr Mar Theophilus School To Decongest Porwal Road

Lohegaon, 21st September 21 2022: MLA Sunil Tingre and the officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) inspected the Dhanori Jakat Naka to Dr Mar Theophilus School as road widening work is required to solve the traffic congestion in the Dhanori area and Porwal Road.

A letter has been sent to the school regarding the need for the school site to be taken over by the PMC as soon as possible for this widening.

This newly developing suburb in Pune is witnessing massive population growth. But as the width of the road is not increasing, regular traffic jams are experienced. Therefore, the road needs to be widened.

Against this backdrop, PMC Additional Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar inspected the alternate road of Porwal road. The work from Dhanori Jakat Naka to the school is complete, and the letter regarding the transfer of the school land has been given to the school by the PMC Property Management. In this regard, a meeting has been called with Additional Commissioner Khemnar next Tuesday, 27th September 2022.

Khemnar, Chief Engineer of Road Department V G Kulkarni, Dr Rajeshji Sathe, Sandeep Lokhande, Varunji Singh and officials of Pune Municipal Corporation will be present.

MLA Sunil Tingre said, “To solve the traffic jam in the Dhanori area, an alternative road to Porwal road must be created. For this, efforts are underway to widen the road from Jakat Naka to Mar Theophilus School. In this regard, a letter has been given to the school for transfer of land. This place will be taken over by paying compensation to them, thus providing relief to the citizens of this area.”
