Pune: PMPML Starts Direct Bus From Katraj To Torna Fort
Pune, 25th February 2022: The long-awaited Pune (Katraj) to Torna Fort (Velhe) bus service has begun. All of the Velhe taluka’s political office bearers had worked hard to achieve this. Citizens greeted the bus with tremendous ceremony once it arrived at the foothills of Torna fort yesterday, chanting Chhatrapati Shivaji and blowing off firecrackers.
The bus service was launched at Rajiv Gandhi Zoo in Katraj at 1 pm in the presence of Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) Transport Manager Dattatreya Zende.
After the bus arrived at the foot of the fort at around 3.30 pm, the citizens lit firecrackers and applauded in honor Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Route No. 296 – Katraj to Velhe-Fort Torna bus service route will have stops at Katraj, Khed Shivapur, Nasrapur, Ambavane, Winzer, Velhe-Fort Torna. At present, there will be a total of 32 round trips on this route by five buses. The first bus from Katraj to Velhe is at 5.50 am. The last bus is at 8.45 pm. Also, the first bus from Velhe to Katraj at 6 am. The last bus is at 9 pm. There will be a bus every one hour.
