Pune 20th August 2023: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) had started feeder bus service to provide connectivity from Pune Metro stations for commuters. The service has been getting good response as over 21,000 commuters have used it since its launch in the last two weeks while it has added a revenue of Rs 2 lakh to the PMPML.

The service initially started with low response as around 500 to 600 commuters used it every day between August 3 and August 9. However, the number of passengers have been increasing after August 9 as an average of over 2,000 passengers travelling in the buses running on the feeder bus routes every day for the last few days. Highest number of passengers were reported on August 16 when 2,390 people used it in a day.

It may be noted that the PMPML has started the feeder service on 8 routes connecting Pune Metro stations to provide better connectivity through public transport to the commuters. The officials have said that the passenger count was low in the initial days as people were not aware about the feeder service. However, the number is increasing every day as more people have now started using the PMPML bus from metro stations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the extended routes of Pune Metro between Ruby Hall Clinic to Civil Court Metro Station and Phugewadi to Garware College Metro Station via Civil Court during his visit to the city.
