Pune: PMRDA Opens Nine Taluka-Level Offices to Speed Up Citizen Services and Construction Permits
Pune, 10th October 2025: In a move aimed at resolving civic and construction-related issues more efficiently, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has opened nine new regional offices across various talukas under its jurisdiction.
The initiative is expected to bring major relief to citizens who previously had to travel long distances to PMRDA’s head offices in Akurdi and Aundh for even basic services.
The PMRDA currently manages 697 villages across nine talukas, and until now, citizens from these areas were required to visit the central office for matters such as construction permissions, planning approvals, and other civic queries. The long travel times and procedural delays had been a recurring grievance among residents.
Taking note of these difficulties, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase implemented the decision to decentralize PMRDA operations by opening taluka-wise regional offices. The proposal received formal approval from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during a recent PMRDA meeting.
“With the new regional offices in place, citizens no longer need to travel to Pune or Pimpri Chinchwad for basic issues. Local offices will handle applications, permissions, and queries within their jurisdiction,” a PMRDA official said.
Fully Staffed Regional Offices Begin Operations
To ensure smooth functioning, each office has been provided with adequate manpower, including engineers, assistant metropolitan planners, clerks, and support staff. Department heads have also inspected the regional offices to review operational readiness.
According to officials, the new offices will handle all citizen grievances, planning-related work, and construction permissions within their respective talukas, making the system more accessible and transparent.
Locations of New PMRDA Regional Offices
Regional offices have been established at the following locations:
Chakan (Khed Taluka)
Talegaon (Maval Taluka)
Wagholi (Haveli Taluka)
Aundh (Haveli Taluka)
Yavat (Daund Taluka)
Shikrapur (Shirur Taluka)
Nasrapur (Bhor Taluka)
Saswad (Purandar Taluka)
Chande (Mulshi Taluka)
Nasrapur (Velhe Taluka)
Officials said the initiative would bring administrative convenience to thousands of residents across rural and semi-urban parts of the Pune Metropolitan Region, while also reducing workload at the main offices in Akurdi and Aundh.
