Pune Police Announce 27 Designated Parking Spots for Ganeshotsav Visitors
Pune, 30th August 2025: With lakhs of devotees expected to visit Pune’s Ganesh mandals and temples during Ganeshotsav from August 27 to September 6, the Pune City Traffic Police have announced 27 designated parking spaces across the city. These spaces have been segregated for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, or both, to ensure smooth traffic management during the festive season.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav appealed to citizens to use the designated spaces to avoid inconvenience. “Every year, Ganeshotsav attracts huge crowds in the heart of Pune city. To ensure smooth traffic flow and ease of access, we have tied up with the municipal corporation, private institutions, schools, and colleges to provide organized parking. We request citizens to park only at the designated spots,” he said.

The traffic branch clarified that these locations have been officially approved after coordination with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and private institutions. The step is aimed at reducing congestion in areas with popular Ganesh mandals, including Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati, and Tulshibaug Ganpati.
DCP Jadhav added, “We appeal to citizens to cooperate with the police and volunteers. Proper use of parking spaces will ensure convenience for everyone and make the festival experience smoother.”
