Pune Police Arrest Man For Attempted Sexual Assault On Sleeping Woman
Keshavnagar, 9th April 2023: A man has been arrested by the Mundhwa police after a young woman computer engineer filed a complaint against him for committing indecent acts.
The 26-year-old accused, who is a resident of Lower Parel in Mumbai, had a romantic relationship with a friend of the complainant and had traveled to Pune to meet her. The complainant and her two friends, who also work in the IT industry, had rented a flat in Keshavnagar in Mundhwa.
According to police, the incident occurred when the complainant was asleep, and the suspect attempted to engage in indecent behavior with her. The woman woke up and screamed, prompting the accused’s friend to intervene and he attacked his girlfriend. The young woman then lodged a complaint with the police, leading to his arrest.
The police have identified the suspect as Ajinkya Ramesh Sawant and are currently investigating the matter under the guidance of Police Sub-Inspector Gade.
