Pune: Stormy Rains Cause Electricity Disruptions, MSEDCL Crews Work To Restore Power

Pune, 9th April 2023: The recent heavy rains in Pune and surrounding areas caused significant damage to the power system due to fallen trees and branches.
The power outage affected several areas, including Sinhagad Road, Hingane, Narhe, Dhayari, Vadgaon, Dattawadi, Janta Vasahat, and Ganeshmala. MSEDCL engineers and employees quickly responded to carry out repairs and restore power to closed substations and power lines.
While power supply was restored in most areas within half an hour, some places still require tree and branch removal before power supply can resume in its original form. The Manikbaug area was particularly impacted, and work is ongoing to restore power supply there.
The power outage also affected the Alankar sub-centre of MSEDCL, leading to electricity being cut off in the council hall, collector’s office, central administrative building, and surrounding areas. However, an alternative power line was established, and electricity supply was restored in just 40 minutes.
The repair and removal of fallen trees and branches are currently underway, and individual complaints of power outage are being addressed by the authorities.
