Pune Police Bust Rave Party in Kharadi; Political Leader’s Husband Among Five Detained
Kharadi, 27th July 2025: Pune Police raided a rave party late Saturday night at a lodge in the Kharadi area, detaining five individuals, including two women. Among those held is Pranjal Khewalkar, the husband of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Rohini Khadse and son-in-law of senior politician Eknath Khadse.
Acting on a tip-off, police swooped down on the flat, which was allegedly hosting a rave party disguised as a private house gathering. During the raid, officials recovered a large quantity of drugs, liquor bottles, and hookah paraphernalia from the premises.
“Despite the event being portrayed as a house party, it was clearly a rave involving illegal substances,” a senior officer involved in the operation told Punekar News. “We are committed to taking firm action against any form of drug abuse and illegal gatherings.”
The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. All five individuals are currently being questioned.
Authorities are now investigating the organisers of the party, the source of the drugs, and the supply network involved. Police have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests in the coming days.
More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
