Pune Police Constable Jumps In Ambil Odha To Save Drowning Lawyer

Sahakar Nagar, 9th July 2022: Around 7 pm on Friday, while patrolling, Police Constables Saddam Shaikh and Ajit Pokare from Dattawadi police station received information that a young man had attempted suicide in Ambil Odha stream near Bagul Udyan. Soon these constables reached the stream.

Policemen Pokare and Shaikh tried to pull that man out of the stream with the help of a rope. But the young man pushed them and jumped into the water. Accordingly, Shaikh also jumped into the water.

Shaikh dragged the young man towards a side of the stream and saved his life. While this was happening, hundreds of people gathered around the spot and recorded this incident from their mobile phones. Everyone appreciated Shaikh and Pokare of Pune city police for their courage and work.

Police later identified the man as a lawyer who practised at the Pune district court. He has been handed over to his family.
