Pune Police Deport Six Member Yemeni Family For Illegal Stay

Pune, 27th December 2022: The special branch of Pune city police has taken deportation action against six people from Yemen who have been living illegally in the Kondhwa area of Pune since 2017 without passport and visa. They have been sent to Yemen.
Police have sent back Alkharaj Waleed Abdurabuateh (37), his brother Saudi Abdurbu Ateq Al Kharaj (34), wife Hebayahna Mohammad Hussain (33), and three children.
The concerned foreign national had come to India in 2017 on a student visa. Since then he was living illegally in Kondhwa. He was detained by the Foreign Registration Office (FRO) in October 2022. After that, the woman along with three minors were kept in the Rescue Foundation Shelter in Hadapsar. Their passports and visas were obtained from the Yemeni embassy as they had expired. They were to be sent back to their native countries.
However, the citizens were against going there. They filed a petition against the police in the Pune cantonment court. However, the petition was rejected. The family moved the Bombay High Court but they did not get any relief from there.
The Special Branch booked their flight tickets with the help of the Yemeni Embassy. They were deported on 24th December from Mumbai International Airport.
The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (special branch 2) Niyati Thakar Dave of Mumbai Police and Pune Police’s DCP (special branch) R Raja, and ACPs Ramakant Mane and Bhupesh Bavankar. The team included Senior Police Inspector Jagannath Kalaskar, Assistant Police Inspector Pankaj Pawar, and police personnel Paul Anthony, Shailendra Vani, Dilip Kachi, Tanaji Sarde, Sachin Sahane, Nilima Khilare, Suhas Dhaygude, Kedar Jadhav, Sanjay Nigde, Manisha Tate, and Kajal Kumbhar.
