Pune Police Frame Rules For Local Train Travel, E-pass Must
Pune, October 6, 2020: The Maharashtra state government and Ministry of Railway has permitted running of trains for the employees providing essential services from Pune to Lonavla at 08.05 am and 18.05 pm and Lonavla to Pune from 08.20 am and 17.20 pm from October 12. Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said that a meeting was held between the police administration and other concerned senior officers about the local train facility.
Following offices are considered under essential services: All Railway staff and contractual staff including all Railway and who have been issued authority travel in workmen special, all staff of collector office, staff of municipal corporation including municipal school teachers and contractual staff engaged by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Maharashtra Police including GRP, employees of Pune Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), MSRTC, all employees of Central Government, Defence personnel, employees of Income Tax, GST, Customs, Department of Post, Judiciary, employees of Nationalized Bank, all Government / Private Hospital Staff including all pathological / Lab Testing/ Pharma companies staff, employees of approved Aircraft Maintenance and repaired organizations, personnel of all co-operative banks and private banks, employees of consulate generals, high commissioners, honorary consulate generals and international industries.
All concerned departments are required to issue Digital pass to the staff enlisted above to avoid the crowd at the station. Every employee of the essential service coming and going at all the stations will be checked by thermal scanning. Routes to and from the station premises will be determined. Also, there will be no hawkers in the 150-meter area of the railway station. Also, care should be taken to ensure that there are no obstructions on the roads leading to the railway station. Direction viewer boards will be put up in the railway station area by the local municipal authorities. The entire area of the station will also be barricaded. Coordinating officers will be appointed at all railway stations on behalf of Pune Municipal Corporation. The train will be disinfected by PMC after each round. Similarly, at the end of the day, every train will be disinfected by the Railway administration.
Action plan for starting a local train service will be as follows: The scheme is being run under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police, Pune City and the information of the employees in the essential services has been requested through various departments. An e-pass system based on QR code will be used for the person concerned for travel.
The applicant has to go to the link www.punepolice.in and fill the office letter, ID card, photo, fitness certificate and other information and submit the application online. The application will be fully verified by the Pune Police Commissionrate and a QR code will be received on their mentioned contact number for travel. In this way, the proposed Pune to Lonavla and Lonavla to Pune local services can be availed for the essential service personnel.
Only passengers with QR code can travel by local train. If new local trains commence near in future, new orders will be issued in this regard. The concerned department has bee requested to send the details of their staff on email id [email protected] till October 8, for those who come under essential services and need to travel by local train, Pune police stated in a press release.
