Pune, 10th June 2023: This year, the annual Palkhi ceremony of Sant Shrestha Sri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj will provide real-time updates through GPS tracking. The palanquin procession, starting from Shri Kshetra Alandi Devachi and Sri Kshetra Dehu, will reach Pune on 12th June (Monday).

To ensure smooth movement and provide timely information to citizens and motorists, Pune Police has launched a dedicated webpage (diversion.punepolice.gov.in). This webpage will offer updates on Palkhi Route, closed and open roads, and the location of the palanquins. By accessing the webpage via mobile or laptop, citizens can stay informed and avoid traffic congestion during the departure of the palanquins, said Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr.

To track the live location of the palanquins, four motorcycles equipped with GPS systems will accompany the procession. This will enable officials, staff, and the control room to receive immediate updates on the location of the palanquins, facilitating traffic and settlement planning along the route, added DCP (Traffic) Vijay Magar.
