Pune: Dr. Pramod Chaudhari Becomes The Chairman Of The Board of Governance of COEP Technological University
Pune, 10th June 2023: Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, renowned industrialist, Founder and Executive Chairman of Praj Industries Limited has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governance of the COEP Technological University. Acclaimed as the ‘Ethanol Man’, Dr. Chaudhari is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and Harvard Business School and has worked as the Member of the temporary Governing Council of COEP Technological University earlier. This appointment was announced by the Ministry of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra through a notification issued yesterday. The appointment is for the period of 5 years. Chaudhari will lead the first ever full term Board of Governance formed after COEP became autonomous and got the status of a Technical University.
Responding to this development Dr. Chaudhari said, “It is a feeling of joy and pride to learn that the State Government has entrusted me with the responsibility of leading the Board of Governance of such an historic and prestigious institute in the country. Together with my colleagues, we will strive hard to further enhance the quality and standard of education at COEP to create future ready world-class engineers. Priority will be given to prepare a strategic blueprint and time bound plan for the next phase of growth of COEP.”
Dr. Pramod Chaudhari has worked as the office bearer of many reputed social, educational and industrial organizations. He has served as the President of the Maratha Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture and the Science and Technology Park, Pune apart from being a founder member of Pune International Center, a think tank organization. Chaudhari also holds the distinction of being the first Indian to be on the advisory board of World Bioeconomic Forum and the first Indian recipient of the prestigious George Washington Carver award for his outstanding contribution to biotechnology. He has also worked as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Savitribai Phule Pune University.
