Pune Police Raid Massage Parlour in Aundh, Rescue Nine Women Including Four from Thailand
Aundh, 3rd February 2025: Pune Crime Branch officials conducted a raid on a massage parlour in the Aundh area, rescuing nine women, including four from Thailand, who were allegedly forced into prostitution. The operation has led to the filing of a case against four individuals, including the owner of the massage parlour.
According to police reports, the massage parlour, located in the Murkute Plaza building in Aundh, was operating as a front for a prostitution racket. Acting on a tip-off received by Police Inspector Ajay Waghmare of Crime Branch Unit Four, a team was dispatched to investigate the premises.
During the raid, authorities found nine women—four from Thailand and five from Maharashtra and Gujarat. Preliminary investigations revealed that these women were lured into prostitution with promises of money.
The Chatushrungi Police Station has registered a case against four individuals, including the owner and manager of the massage parlour, under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956. The accused are alleged to have been running the illegal operation under the guise of a legitimate massage business.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Mulik. The raiding team was led by Police Inspectors Vijayanand Patil and Ajay Waghmare, Assistant Inspector Narendra Patil, and Sub-Inspector Vaibhav Magdum.
