Pune Police Recover Rs 55 Lakh Fine From Citizens Without Masks In Last 12 Days

Pune, 17th January 2022: Restrictions have been imposed in Pune city against the backdrop of the increasing coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases. However, even in such a situation, there are some irresponsible citizens who are seen roaming around in a city without a mask.

Therefore, Pune Police has taken action against these citizens. In the last 12 days, a fine of Rs 55 lakh has been collected from 11,000 citizens found without masks.

In the third wave, the number of corona patients has increased rapidly. Against this backdrop, the Pune police are taking stern action as per the instructions of the Maharashtra state government.

From January 5 to 17, those who are violating the rules are being fined Rs 500.

Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta appealed to people to wear the mask and follow social distance norms while in a public place as the danger of Corona has not been subsided yet.
