Pune Police Requests Parents To Not Pay Heed To Rumours Of Gang Kidnapping Students, Suggests Safety Measures
Pune, 23rd September 2022: Rumours of a gang kidnapping school children have been going around in Pune city, causing fear among parents. Parents have expressed concern about sending their children to school and other classes.
However, the Pune Police has appealed to citizens not to fall prey to rumours. It is also advised not to worry about viral photos on social media. Apart from that, parents and the police have also been urged to take proper precautions for the safety of children.
Fear has spread among parents as rumours spread on social media about gangs abducting school students. Therefore, precautions are being taken by the school administration, family and relatives. However, no such incident has taken place, and the police have appealed to the citizens not to worry. Especially in the last two days, the photos of some students are going viral on social media. Apart from that, some school administrations have also asked to take precautions in this context. Therefore, instructions have been given for parents to present themselves to take their children home from school.
Don’t believe social media rumours; don’t make them viral. There has been a crop of rumours on social media about a gang that abducts children. Messages on groups are being forwarded by many people without verification. So, the rumours have started to grow. Meanwhile, citizens should not spread any photos of the rumour on social media. The police have appealed not to worry about the gang abducting children. Also, inform the nearest police stations about suspicious persons.
There was also a viral message about kidnapping in the Kondhwa area. However, Kondhwa police station in-charge Senior Police Inspector Sardar Patil has informed that no kidnapping has taken place in the area. “If anybody has doubts they can come to us and we will clarify. Nobody should believe any fake message”, he added.
