Pune, 27th May 2026: Vishal Agarwal, father of the minor accused in the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case, issued a formal press note on Wednesday strongly denying media reports and social media claims that a viral video showed his family celebrating his recent release from jail.

In the statement, Agarwal clarified that the footage in circulation depicts his 25th wedding anniversary celebration held in Goa on September 2, 2023 — several months before the fatal accident on May 19, 2024, and the registration of FIR No. 306/24 at Yerwada Police Station.

The video shows Agarwal, his wife Shivani Vishal Agarwal, their son, and other family members and friends dancing at a hotel event attended by close acquaintances. Agarwal expressed dismay over the unauthorized circulation of the private footage, accusing certain media outlets of broadcasting it with misleading headlines without verification.

Family’s Strong Reaction

Describing the reports as “false and defamatory,” Agarwal said the misrepresentation has caused immense mental trauma to his family. He alleged that the timing and spread of the video appear to be a deliberate attempt to influence public perception and prejudice the family’s right to a free and fair trial amid ongoing legal proceedings.

The family has announced plans to pursue legal action against those responsible for leaking the private video, terming it a violation of their fundamental right to privacy under the Constitution of India. They have also issued a cease-and-desist notice to media portals, demanding the immediate removal of the clips and issuance of public clarifications regarding the correct context.

Background of the Case

Vishal Agarwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on March 10, 2026, after spending approximately 22 months in custody. He faces allegations related to evidence tampering, including the alleged swapping of blood samples in connection with the May 19, 2024, Kalyani Nagar incident, where a Porsche allegedly driven by his underage son at high speed collided with a motorcycle, killing two young software engineers — Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.

The viral video triggered fresh public outrage and criticism from the victims’ families, who viewed it as insensitive. However, the Agarwal family maintains the clip has no connection to the bail or the case.

Legal proceedings in the high-profile case are continuing in various courts. Agarwal’s statement emphasized that all accused are now out on bail as the trial progresses.
