Lohegaon, 14th June 2023: Pune residents residing in the vicinity of Porwal Road are facing water scarcity and on the other hand there is water leakage for the past six days due to a broken pipeline. Despite repeated complaints to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), no action has been taken to rectify the issue, leaving residents frustrated and helpless.

The Lohegaon Residents Welfare Association took to Twitter to highlight the dire situation, stating, “There is a huge scarcity of water on Porwal Road, and even societies trying to call for water tankers are being told ‘No Water.’ @PMCPune @suniltingre On the other hand, we can witness wastage of water at various places, and PMC has been just watching for the past five days. What does PMC want?”

Another resident, Ashutosh Shrivastava, expressed his dissatisfaction, suggesting that the PMC appears more interested in collecting property taxes, including water tax, rather than addressing the pressing issue of water wastage caused by the leaking pipeline.

Residents of the area have also raised concerns about the irregular water supply from PMC. They are disheartened that not only is the corporation failing to ensure regular water distribution, but it is also neglecting the urgent matter of water wastage resulting from pipeline leakage.

The prolonged duration of the water leakage and the PMC’s lack of action has exacerbated the difficulties faced by residents already grappling with water scarcity. The situation has led to growing frustration and a sense of neglect among the affected residents.

Efforts to reach the PMC for a response to the ongoing water leakage issue have been unsuccessful thus far. Concerned residents are urging the PMC to prioritize their grievances, promptly address the water leakage, and ensure regular water supply to the affected areas.

As the days pass without any resolution, the residents of Porwal Road remain hopeful that the PMC will take immediate action to rectify the broken pipeline, mitigating the water scarcity issue and preventing further wastage of this precious resource.
