Pune provides shelter, food to its homeless, needy people and students

Pune, March 27, 2020: District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has taken necessary measures to ensure that the homeless and economically weaker section people do not starve under any circumstances.
A team led by Sub Divisional Officer Santosh Kumar Deshmukh and Tahsildar Trupti Kolte roped in social organizations and NGOs to supply food.
Day and night shelter centre has been established by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) at Yerwada, Pune Station, Bopodi and Shastri Road. Also, pulses, khichdi, puri vegetables were made available to the citizens of other places.
Tahsildar Trupti Kolte has appealed kind people and organisations who want to donate food, to contact the Corona Control Room. The control room has a list of people in need, according to which food can be distributed. Some donors stand at the chowk and distribute food which leads to gathering thus defeating the purpose of lockdown. Therefore, proper planning is required.
Today, 1,000 food packets were distributed on behalf of Vishal Hiremath’s Miracle Aid Foundation in the district.
On behalf of former MP Sanjay Kakade and Ashwini Kokate, Talathi of Koregaon Bhima, 20 labourers were given foodgrains. Walke Talaki helped in foodgrains distribution to 10 workers in Dhoke Sangvi village.
