Pune Railway Division Organizes Mock Drill With NDRF

Pune, 27th December 2021: A mock drill exercise was successfully organized by Pune Railway Division today to help the passengers in the event of a train accident.
As part of the drill, after receiving the information about a train accident of Mumbai-Tirupati pilgrim train at Begdewadi station of Pune-Lonavala Railway route of Pune Railway Division, all concerned departments were immediately informed through Railway Control Office after receiving information from the station master.Accident Relief Train, Medical Relief Train was dispatched to the accident site without delay. Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma, Additional Divisional Railway Divisional Railway Manager Prakash Upadhyay, Medical team, staff, other Railway officials and Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately reached the accident site and started relief and rescue operations on a war footing.

The accident was reported to the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), Movement Control Office (MCO), and also to the local administration, police, medical department of the state government. The stranded passengers were also rescued without delay by accident relief staff and NDRF with the help of various equipments, etc.

Railway medical team reached the spot and after giving necessary first aid to the passengers, they were sent to the nearest hospitals through an ambulance of the state government.

During the relief and rescue operations, Deputy Commandant of NDRF Pramod Kumar Yadav, Colonel Varun Luthra of MCO, Deputy Chief Safety Officer from Headquarters KP Krishnan, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Vijaysinh Dadas, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer JP Mishra, Divisional Safety Officer Devendra Kumar, Additional Chief Medical Officer of Pune Railway Hospital, Dr Niti Ahuja, Dr Naveenkumar, Assistant Divisional Safety Officer RK Lade were present.
