Pune: Railways Launch Crackdown On Passengers Not Wearing Face Masks

Pune, 9th December 2021: A total of 75 railway passengers in November were fined for not wearing face masks. A total of Rs 16,900 fine amount have been collected from them.

Between April and November this year, Rs 6.29 lakh fine amount has been recovered from 2627 passengers who were found without masks.

“While collecting the fine from such people, masks are also being given along with the receipt. This initiative of the Railways will create awareness among the passengers and they will be aware of the seriousness of the epidemic,” an official said.

Pune Railway Division has appealed to the passengers to wear face masks on the station premises and during the train journey.
