Pune Rains Have Destroyed Last 10 Years Records

Pune, October, 15, 2020: The rains that lashed the city on Wednesday; broke all the records of last 10 years. Within two hours the entire city was inundated after receiving 151 mm (Katraj) and 96 (Shivajinagar). The heavy spell of rains from 9 pm to 11 pm inundated all the streets with several incidents of tree falling and electricity failure.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had to shift from low-lying areas of Katraj Lake, Tangewali colony and Aranyeshwar.

The rains brought back the memories of September 25 last year after Ambil odha was overflowed. All the roads of Aundh, Baner, Kothrud and other parts of the city were inundated.  All the raining stopped by midnight, the water took long to recede.
