Pune, 5th March 2025: Despite assurances in the Canal Committee meeting that there would be no water cuts for Pune city, residents in several areas are experiencing reduced water supply timings and low pressure. In some localities, the water pressure is so weak that tanks are not filling properly, leaving citizens frustrated.

BJP spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar has lodged a formal complaint with the municipal commissioner, demanding immediate corrective action. Areas like Kothrud, Erandwane, Gokhalenagar, and Wadarwadi are among those facing low water pressure. According to the administration, the issue arises because the Parvati Water Centre is supplying only 3,800 cubic meters of water instead of the expected 4,100 cubic meters.

Concerned citizens have raised multiple complaints and warned of protests if the problem is not resolved soon.
Residents Speak Out
A group of students living in a shared flat in Erandwane shared their frustration:
“Even if we turn on the tap in the morning, the water pressure is so low that it takes ages to fill a bucket. Sometimes, the tank doesn’t even fill up. This delays us from going to college, and our morning study time is wasted just collecting water.”

Working women in Kothrud echoed similar concerns:
“Our daily routine has been completely disrupted. We have to wait for a long time to collect water, which makes us late for work, and even our children struggle to get ready on time.”

Housewives in Gokhalenagar and Wadarwadi expressed their distress:
“Bathing, cooking, and housework all depend on water. Now, we have to sit with our ears glued to the tap, waiting for water to flow. If the administration does not act immediately, the situation will become even worse.”

As the complaints grow louder, residents urge the authorities to take swift action to restore normal water supply and prevent further inconvenience.
