Pune, 19th July 2025: Residents of Mayur Kilbil Co-operative Housing Society in Dhanori held a peaceful protest on Saturday, demanding action against their builder’s alleged negligence. The demonstration comes nearly a month after a boundary wall collapsed on 20th June, and reconstruction work, promised by the builder, was abruptly stopped just four days later, on 24th June.

Over 250 families are now living in unsafe and difficult conditions. Protesters, including women, senior citizens, and children, raised slogans such as “Builder be accountable” and “Safety is our right.” They accused the builder of abandoning the project and putting their lives at risk.

Residents said that the debris dumped by the builder has blocked key internal roads, parking spaces, and emergency exits. Ambulances, school buses, and fire brigades cannot enter the society premises, forcing residents to carry patients manually during medical emergencies. With the monsoon intensifying, they also fear flooding and further damage from the overflowing nala.

The residents demanded immediate completion of the nala wall, removal of debris, and urgent safety measures. They warned of continued protests if no action is taken and urged PMC, local representatives, and authorities to intervene.
