Pune: Residents Troubled By Contaminated Water Supply In Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa
Pune, 18th July 2023: The continuous supply of contaminated water in Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa, has become a cause for serious concern among its residents. Facing daily challenges due to the polluted water, the community has been plagued by various health issues and illnesses.
Residents of Ashraf Nagar have expressed their frustrations over the persisting problem of contaminated water, which has persisted for the past two years. Despite numerous complaints lodged with officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), a satisfactory resolution has yet to be achieved. The authorities respond by briefly cleaning the pipelines, but within a few days, the contaminated water resurfaces, leading to recurring stomach aches, typhoid cases, and other ailments.
In response to the residents’ distress, Rajendra Jadhav, Junior Engineer of the PMC Drainage Department, has reassured the community that the PMC is diligently working towards finding a permanent solution to this issue. Efforts are being made to rectify the problem and ensure a clean and safe water supply for the residents of Ashraf Nagar.
