Pune, 10th November 2022: A female passenger travelling by train number 12169 told the Principal Constable Chandrakant Memane posted on duty in the yard while the train was passing through the Pune Old Washing Siding Yard to stop the train by pulling the chain. She explained that she left one of her bags containing gold and silver jewellery on platform number five. The head constable explained to the woman that she does not need to worry or pull the chain as they would trace the bag and notify her. Later, ASI Santosh Jaibhaye, constable Vinod Kumar Meena and constable Dada Shelar were apprised of the situation by the Constable.

The team searched the platform. A bag was found in unclaimed condition under the new bridge. On enquiry, no passenger claimed the bag as theirs. The team brought the bag to the RPF police station in Pune. After some time, the female passenger and her family came to the RPF police station and explained that the bag belonged to them, which was left behind while boarding the train. On asking the female passenger, she gave her name as Mahzbeen (23), resident of Sayyidnagar, Hadapsar, Pune, and said that when the train slowed down further in the yard, she got down and came back on foot. After opening the bag in front of her and her relative, they found the jewellery and the clothes it contained.

The goods were handed over safely to the female passenger and her family members. The passenger extended many thanks to RPF Pune.

Head constable Chandrakant Memane saved the punctuality from being interrupted by persuading the female passenger to not act hastily and correctly conveying information to the head constable Chandrakant Memane, ASI Santosh Jaibhaye, constable Vinod Kumar Meena and constable Dada Shelar, who took care of the passenger. Commendable work has been done to give back the baggage of Rs 3,27,150 that was lost to the passenger.
