Pune: Rs 10 Lakh Compensation Announced for Victims’ Families in Nasrapur and Mhalunge Assault Cases
Pune, 9th May 2026: The Pune District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) has decided to provide compensation of ₹10 lakh each to the families of victims in the Nasrapur and Mhalunge assault cases.
The decision was taken after Pune Principal District Judge and PDLSA Chairman Mahendra Mahajan convened an urgent meeting of the Manodhairya Committee on Friday to review the cases and related documents.
Officials said the compensation would be provided under the Maharashtra government’s Manodhairya Scheme, which offers financial assistance to victims of rape, child sexual abuse, acid attacks, and their families.
As per the provisions of the scheme, 25 per cent of the sanctioned amount will be directly provided to the victims or their families, while the remaining 75 per cent will be deposited in a fixed deposit account for a period of 10 years.
The authority stated that the decision was taken considering the seriousness and sensitivity of both cases.
