Pune: Rs 5.5 Lakh Cash, Jewelry In Bag Stolen While Man Gets Photo Clicked With Bride And Groom On Stage At Residency Club

Pune, 6th May 2022: A thief stole a bag containing Rs 5.5 lakh in cash and jewelry from the bride’s party during a wedding ceremony at Residency Club in Queen’s Garden area of Pune Camp. After the incident came to light, the relatives present at a wedding started to search for the thief but in vain.

 

 

 

The bride’s brother, a resident of Dhanori, has registered an FIR with Koregaon Park Police Station under Pune City Police. The complainant is a computer engineer working for an IT company. His sister’s wedding took place at Queen’s Lawn at the Residency Club. A reception was organized after that on May 3.

 

 

 

The complainant had kept Rs 5.5 lakh in cash, jewelry, and car keys in his bag. During the reception, the complainant was invited by relatives to take pictures on stage around 10.30 pm. He put the bag on the chair while getting his photo clicked with the bride and groom. Taking advantage of the situation, the thief decamped with the bag.

 

 

 

The incident was reported to the police. Police have seized CCTV footage for investigation. Sub-Inspector Amol Ghodke is investigating the case.
